Code of Conduct

GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT (as per GB resolution)

  1. Every teaching and non-teaching employee must maintain their duty hours.
  2. Actual Departure & Arrival time must be entered in the Attendance Register and that too during actual arrival and departure and not afterwards.
  3. If there is no student in a specific paper of a specific semester, no classes can be allotted in the Routine.
  4. If there are no students in a particular period of a particular day, you should consider that class a “zero class taken”.
  5. If the minimum requirement of CAS is fulfilled, then; No DL can be claimed for seminar, workshop, FIP, RC, FDP, STP, etc. Personal leave can be availed.
  6. Application of CL and DL has to be made in our college online leave portal.
  7. In case of EL and other leaves, you have to apply in advance through email or hard copy.
  8. Prior application for CCL, maternity leave or Paternity leave has to be made as those leaves require approval of GB.
  9. In case of DL, proper documents must be submitted (pre or post facto).
  10. Compensatory leaves may be availed on prior permission from the principal.
  11. Every non-teaching staff member must sit in their respective places.
  12. In the case of non-teaching staff whose duty is any Department/room will have to take the additional duty/responsibility for opening and closing the Department and must be present so long as any teacher is  present in that department.
  13. Casual NTS will have to do their duty properly as per the decision of GB.
  14. In case of any practical based department, the teachers may sit separately (if required) but the Lab attendant must be present in the lab during college hours. In case of non-practical based departments, teachers will remain in their respective department/cubicle during non-class hours.
  15. Whenever there is class, every teacher must be either in the classroom or in his/her specific department. This will be recorded for every class and a monthly report be sent to higher authority.
  16. Any non-teaching staff can be temporarily deputed for the needs of the college, such as administration, form fillup, examination, result distribution, fees collection, etc.
  17. Visiting hours of Principal is from 2PM to 3PM. In case of emergency, you can meet the principal with permission from office.
  18. Teachers can inform their TR in case of any need or difficulty/problem/suggestion. Non-teaching employees also can inform their NTR in case of any need or difficulty/problem/suggestion. They need not approach the principal / GB directly unless of emergent urgency.
  19. Biometric attendance data must be consistent with the hard copy Attendance Register. Any disparity may attract disciplinary action.
  20. Subject wise semester result will be discussed in GB. If result is not satisfactory, GB will discuss the issue with the concerned department teachers.
  21. All full-time teachers of a particular department cannot take P.Day on the same day. Moreover, at least one teacher must be present in a particular department on each working day.
  22. Routine will be formulated by the GB henceforth.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC CODE OF CONDUCT
Principal

  • Chalk out a policy & plan to execute the vision and mission.
  • Encourage communication between stakeholders and foster research and development initiatives.
  • Make sure that the college's rules, policies, and procedures are understood by the staff and students, and that they are applied correctly.
  • Recommend and forward communication to the authorities.
  • Keep an eye on, oversee, and instruct the institution's administration. Based on input from stakeholders, take corrective action.
  • Execute any other qualitative and quantitative work for the welfare of the college.
  • Listen to the students’ ideas and set a supportive tone.
  • Be fair in taking disciplinary action against all the members of the faculty, non-teaching staff, and students.
  • Empower all staff and students to reach their maximum potential.
  • Spread the ideas of secularism and the spirit of humanity all over the institution.
  • Ensure optimum use of college resources.
  • Save the very tradition, culture, & integrity of the institution.

Teachers

  1. Uphold the honour & dignity of the teaching profession.
  2. Provide innovation and quality education to students.
  3. Be impartial and indiscriminative against students.
  4. Interact with students in a friendly manner.
  5. Abide by the rules & regulations of the institution.
  6. Abide by the procedures to ensure student’s safety.
  7. Collaborate with fellow teachers.
  8. Be responsible & interact positively with parents and other stakeholders in educating the students.
  9. Be a good counselor and facilitator.
  10. Help, guide, encourage, and assist students in their learning.
  11. Carry himself/herself with the highest integrity and has to exhibit outstanding and strong leadership skills.
  12. Minimize use of cell phone while in the college.
  13. Cherish the spirit of humanity among the students.
  14. Protect the college property & save the energy.

Non-Teaching

  1. Report to duty on time.
  2. Remain on duty at the proper location during college hours.
  3. Adhere strictly to the laws and regulations of the college.
  4. Respect and maintain the hierarchy in the administration.
  5. Maintain honesty, integrity, and fairness in all activities.
  6. Exercise self-discipline and deal positively with staff, students, & the public.
  7. Must not divulge official secrets, mutilate, expunge, conceal, alter, or forge official documents or receipts.
  8. Must not be absent from duty without officially approved leave.
  9. Avoid social networking sites during the working hours.
  10. Try to make optimum use of the college resources.
  11. Always try to save energy and the environment of the college.
  12. Protect college property with utmost honesty.

STUDENT

  1. Students of the college are expected to behave responsibly, both inside and outside the college. Ragging in any form is a criminal offense and is strictly prohibited. Any occurrence should be immediately reported to the Anti-ragging Committee. Students must be respectful towards our National Heritage, National Flag and National Song.
  2. Polite and respectful behaviour towards the Principal, teachers and non-teaching staff of the College and their fellow students is expected from a student. They must not use any kind of abusive behaviour or language. They should refrain from any activities which may dishonour the Institution.
  3. Every student must carry the "identity card" issued to him/her inside the College Campus.
  4. It is the responsibility of the students to keep the campus clean. Care should be taken to maintain the cleanliness of toilets. The college campus is a plastic-free zone. Littering is strictly forbidden, and anyone found littering will have to pay a fine to be decided by the administration.
  5. Students are expected to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the College laboratory and library and must handle the College property, furniture, etc. with utmost care.
  6. Students are expected to be decently dressed within the college campus.
  7. Students must take note that the college campus is under CCTV surveillance.
